Shidduch Lounge ("we," "us," or "our") is a Jewish matchmaking platform that connects singles with shadchanim (matchmakers) through structured, event-based workflows. The platform is operated from 4 Franklin Place, Woodmere, NY 11096 and is accessible at app.shidduchlounge.com. Questions may be directed to hello@shidduchlounge.com.
To use Shidduch Lounge, you must: be at least 18 years of age; have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement; provide accurate and truthful information when registering; and not be prohibited from using the service under any applicable law. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you meet all of the above requirements. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account we believe does not meet these criteria.
Account Registration: You may register as a Single or apply to become a Shadchan (matchmaker). Admin accounts are assigned internally by Shidduch Lounge. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Singles: Singles may create a profile, RSVP to events, browse other profiles, express interest in other singles, and participate in the suggestion and matching process. Your profile information, including photos and résumé, is shared with other users in accordance with your sharing preferences and the platform's role-based access rules. You understand and agree that your profile and matchmaking information may be made available to any and all shadchanim affiliated with Shidduch Lounge so that our matchmakers can consider you for potential matches. This includes shadchanim who did not staff, and were not present at, any event you attended — a shadchan does not need to have met you or worked an event with you in order to view your profile. See our Privacy Policy for details on how this information is shared. As part of building your profile, you may be asked to answer multiple-choice and other profile questions about yourself — including questions about your lifestyle, values, hashkafa, family background, personality, dating preferences, and what you are looking for in a match. Answering these questions is voluntary, but more complete responses help shadchanim make better-informed suggestions. You agree to answer honestly and to keep your responses up to date. Your responses become part of your profile and are shared with shadchanim and admins as described in our Privacy Policy. Shadchanim: Shadchan accounts require admin approval before access is granted. Approved shadchanim may staff events, view singles' profiles (within their permitted scope), make suggestions, claim singles, write notes and reviews, and manage matchmaking pipelines. By applying as a shadchan, you represent that you are acting in good faith as a matchmaker. Account Accuracy: You agree to keep your profile information current and accurate. Providing false, misleading, or deceptive information — including misrepresenting your identity, age, or intentions — is grounds for immediate account suspension or termination.
You agree that you will not: use the platform for any purpose other than genuine matchmaking and dating; harass, threaten, or engage in abusive behavior toward other users; post false, defamatory, or misleading information; upload photos or content that depict or involve anyone other than yourself without their consent; attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or the platform's systems; use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access the platform; circumvent or attempt to circumvent any access controls or security measures; use the platform for commercial solicitation or advertising without our written consent; share another user's personal contact information outside the platform without their explicit consent; or violate any applicable local, state, federal, or international law or regulation. We reserve the right to remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these standards, at our sole discretion and without prior notice.
Event Attendance: Singles may request to attend Shidduch Lounge events. All attendance requests are subject to admin approval. Approval is not guaranteed and may be subject to event capacity, age restrictions, or other criteria at our discretion. Events may be age-restricted. Event Passes: Attendance at events requires an event pass. Passes are purchased individually; there are no pass bundles. Pass pricing varies by event and location (typically $36–$50) and the exact price is shown at the time of purchase. A pass is deducted from your balance when your RSVP is approved. If your balance is zero at the time of approval, your status will be set to "Pending Payment" and you will be prompted to purchase a pass to confirm your spot. Passes are valid for any future event and do not expire within one year of purchase. Passes are non-transferable. Refund Policy: Event passes are non-refundable. If you withdraw your RSVP by the withdrawal deadline for that event, the pass is returned to your balance and may be used at any future event. If you withdraw after the deadline, or are marked as a no-show, the pass used is forfeited and is not restored to your balance. The sole exception is cancellation of an event by Shidduch Lounge: if we cancel an event, any pass deducted for that event will be restored to your balance within a reasonable timeframe. Monetary refunds for canceled events are provided at our discretion. We encourage you to withdraw as early as possible if you know you cannot attend, as a courtesy to other participants on the waitlist.
Shidduch Lounge facilitates connections between singles through shadchan-initiated suggestions and interest-based matching. We do not guarantee any particular outcome, including any match, date, engagement, or marriage. The platform is a tool to assist the matchmaking process; shadchanim and singles exercise independent judgment. By expressing interest in another single (date or coffee), you understand that this interest may trigger an automated suggestion workflow, and that your shadchan or an assigned shadchan may be notified.
By creating an account on Shidduch Lounge, you expressly consent to receive automated SMS (text) messages from us at the mobile number you provide. These messages may include: account notifications (approval, status changes, password resets); event updates (RSVP confirmations, reminders, cancellations); matchmaking updates (new suggestions, match status changes); pass and payment confirmations; and general platform announcements and service updates. Message frequency varies based on your activity and platform events. Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan. Carriers are not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages. How to opt out: You may unsubscribe from SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from us. After opting out, you will receive one final confirmation text and no further SMS messages will be sent, except as required by law. To re-subscribe, reply START. Need help? Reply HELP to any message for assistance, or contact us at hello@shidduchlounge.com. Opting out of SMS does not deactivate your account. You will continue to receive important communications via email. To update your phone number, visit your account settings or contact us directly.
By creating an account on Shidduch Lounge, you agree to receive emails from us at the address you provide. These emails may include: Transactional emails — account approval and status changes, password resets, RSVP confirmations, match and suggestion notifications, and payment confirmations. Event emails — announcements of upcoming Shidduch Lounge events (including events you have not yet signed up for), and reminders, schedule details, and last-minute updates for events you have signed up for. Service emails — important changes to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, security or safety notices, and other administrative messages. Optional updates — platform announcements, digests, and similar non-essential messages. Opting out: You may unsubscribe from event announcements and other non-essential emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link in those emails or by contacting hello@shidduchlounge.com. Transactional and service emails (including reminders for events you are signed up for) are tied to your use of the platform and may continue to be sent while your account remains active, as they are necessary to provide the service.
You retain ownership of the photos and content you upload. By uploading content to Shidduch Lounge, you grant us a limited license to store, display, and share that content within the platform for the purpose of providing the service. We do not use your photos or profile content for advertising. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload any content you post. Do not upload photos of other people without their consent. Two types of photos exist on the platform: (1) a public profile photo which may be shared with other singles per your sharing settings, and (2) a shadchan photo taken or uploaded by a shadchan, which is visible only to shadchanim and admins.
Your use of Shidduch Lounge is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the platform, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in the Privacy Policy.
All content on the platform not provided by users — including the name "Shidduch Lounge," logo, design, code, text, and workflows — is owned by or licensed to us. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any platform content without our written permission.
THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE PLATFORM WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS. We do not screen, verify, or vouch for the accuracy of any user-provided information, including profile details. You are responsible for exercising your own judgment when interacting with other users.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SHIDDUCH LOUNGE AND ITS OPERATORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR PERSONAL INJURY, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE PLATFORM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Shidduch Lounge and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the platform; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party rights; or (d) any content you submit to the platform.
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. You may deactivate your account by contacting us at hello@shidduchlounge.com. Upon termination, your right to use the platform ceases immediately. Pass balances are forfeited upon account termination for cause; we may, at our discretion, refund unused passes upon voluntary account closure.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of the platform shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Nassau County, New York, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. If changes are material, we will make reasonable efforts to notify registered users by email. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Shidduch Lounge with respect to your use of the platform. Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. No Waiver: Failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision. Assignment: You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our written consent. We may assign our rights freely.
